Carriacou is totally un-commercialised and has not suffered from the increase in crime associated with some of the larger, more developed islands. Kayaks readily welcome visitors into their close-knit communities. There is an inherent pride in the island - the way of life and traditional values passed down through the generations have been preserved.

In the current global political climate, Carriacou offers one of the most secure holiday home destinations in the world today. The tri-island state of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, was recently ranked as one of the 17 safest countries in the world by the London based World Markets Research Centre*.

The tri-island state is a member of the Commonwealth with Queen Elizabeth II as Head of State. The parliamentary system is based on the Westminster model and the political and economic climate is one of the most stable in the Caribbean today.
